BIOGRAPHY

ACTING

I’m a photographer, filmer and actor, based in Amsterdam. I love story telling by using my camera. Whether it’s for private or professional clients or for my own art.

I started my acting career at a young age. I played in series like Goudkust, Gooische Vrouwen and GTST. And you’ve probably seen me in movies like ‘Schnitzelparadijs’, ‘Hartenstraat’ and ‘Het Leven Is Vurrukkulluk’.

NEW YORK

In 2008 I moved to New York. I wanted to focus more photography to enscenate, tell and direct my own stories. This resulted in my shortfilm ‘Waiting for Pino’ and many photo series. In New York I initiated and organised the illustrious Drop Out Parties. This became a well known underground party, mostly hosted in hotels.

I also moved to Los Angeles where I studied and worked at the Stella Adler Academy. Next to commercials and auditioning I assisted Randl Kleiser in his productions. A great experience!

After 8 years working and living in New York and Los Angeles I came back to Amsterdam. Soon after his I was invited to present my first solo exhibition: 'The American Dream'.

WORK

My approach is to blend the technical precision of photography with an artistic eye. Composition, color and emotion are my greatest inspiration. In my portfolio I present versatility, ranging from stunning (urban) landscapes that evoke a sense of wonder to intimate portraits that reveal the depth of human emotion. In my photographs I want the viewer to explore, reflect and connect.

I always intend to see the world differently, capturing details that others might overlook and presenting them in a way that feels fresh and original.

Whether I work on a large-scale project or an individual piece, I pour my heart and soul into every creation, ensuring that each photograph resonates with authenticity and flair. I want my work not just to be seen but also to be felt, making a lasting impression on all who encounter it.

EXHIBITIONS

The collection of ‘The American Dream’ was presented in the W Hotel, the Lloyd Hotel Cultural Embassy and Galerie Amsterdam. Soon after this I started my own Art Gallery and Creative Studio DepartFrom.

In 2017 I was invited by ‘Public House of Art’ to join their project ‘Het Rijks’. A collaboration between the internationally reknown gallery PHoA and the Rijksmuseum. This resulted in a serie of photos representing the museum by night. I was inspired by the furniture, the architecture and the statues of the museum. And in my photographs I invented new rooms and spaces. Here secretly, the art and statues gather after closing time. Interesting to me was the following discussion about the role of nudity in art.

In February 2020 I presented ‘the Crying Boys’. The exhibition was nationally announced in local, regional and national newspapers and on different talk shows. The show was presented twice: in Fort Kijkduin and Rijksmuseum Muiderslot, the famous medieval castle close to Amsterdam
